Resources

Online resources regarding the pedagogical use of creating games— particularly in feminist and queer studies classes— are scarce, as are platforms created with the intent of sharing student-created feminist and queer studies projects. The following resources have been particularly useful to us:

Analog Game Studies

  • An online journal dedicated to the academic and popular study of games containing a substantial analog component.

Buck Institute for Education Project Database

  • A curated database of curricula that center a project-based learning (PBL) philosophy. The Buck Institute for Education provides information and resources to teachers looking to used PBL in their classrooms.

Feminist Teacher

  • A subscription-based journal from the University of Illinois Press on the practices, theories, and scholarship of feminist teaching.

Queerly Represent Me

  • A database of games that represent queer perspectives and feature queer content. This site also provides research and further resources regarding issues related to sexuality and gender.

Radical Teacher

  • A socialist, feminist, and anti-racist journal on the theory and practice of teaching published by the University of Pittsburgh. â€‹

Social Justice Toolbox

  • A resource hub for free, curated, and "ready-to-rock" social justice activities and facilitation guides designed to help you make the most of your diversity workshops and social justice trainings.
